Make a Therapy Appointment & Insurance Information

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel both exciting and vulnerable — and you don’t have to do it alone. At Connecting with Your Essence, LLC, I aim to make the process simple, transparent, and supportive so you can focus on what truly matters:

your healing and growth. Below you’ll find everything you need to know about making a therapy appointment, using insurance, or paying privately.

Using Your Health Insurance for Therapy

I currently accept the following insurance plans for therapy sessions: Cigna, United Healthcare, Oscar, Aetna, Optum, and Oxford. All insurance billing is managed through Headway, a trusted platform that handles everything related to insurance verification, copay, deductible, and billing — at no extra cost to you.

To Make an Appointment Using Insurance

  1. Submit your insurance details securely through Headway at least 48 hours before your therapy session.
  2. You’ll receive a consultation call from me to ensure we’re a good fit for your therapy goals. This brief call typically lasts 15–20 minutes.
I’ll first send you an email to coordinate a time that works best for this phone conversation.
  3. Once your insurance is verified (usually within 24 hours after submitting your information on Headway), you’ll receive an email from Connecting with Your Essence, LLC that includes:
    • Your client intake forms and practice policies.
    • Your secure telehealth link for our online session.
    • During our phone call, I’ll also explain what to expect and review the paperwork you’ll receive.

Paying Out-of-Pocket for Therapy (Self-Pay)

If you prefer not to use insurance or your plan isn’t listed, you can still schedule a therapy appointment as a self-pay client.

To make a self-pay appointment:

  • Click on Request Therapy.
  • Complete the short intake form to share your contact and scheduling details.
  • Session rates range from $140–$160, depending on the service provided.
  • Sliding scale fees may be available for clients with financial need.

Choosing Whether to Use Insurance

Deciding whether to use your insurance for therapy is a personal choice. It’s important to know that insurance companies require a diagnosis to process claims. This becomes part of your medical record and may be shared with other healthcare providers. If you’d like to keep your therapy experience fully confidential, you may prefer to self-pay. With self-pay sessions, no diagnosis is submitted to insurance, and your records remain private between you and your therapist
